Early Spring on the Coast

Early spring on the coast beach huts
Mudford Beach huts

Are you a morning person? I didn’t think I was until I found my love of photography. I left my house in Somerset at 5:00 in the morning racing the sun. Unfortunately, the sun won by 15 minutes.

Parking in Christchurch and walking along the river where the swans were peacefully gliding and the water perfectly still the clock had just hit 6:45.

My sister-in-law begrudgingly met me (I did get called loopy) but as we walked through the nature reserve with the puppy in tow we both smiled and enjoyed the peace of an early morning walk. We followed the Stour path through to Hengisbury Head. A personal favourite place of mine as I have many wonderful childhood memories of summers spent there and riding the ‘Noddy’ train.

Hengisbury Head is a perfect mix of coast and nature reserve. I just love the beach huts, the colours, no two are the same. This is why I had to document them with pictures. You can see why they are sought after.

Photography

I am still trying to find my style but I am having great fun in the process. I use a Fuji X-T4 and my favourite lens (I own for versatility) is the 16-55 which I used to take all of the above photos. I am still learning but isn’t everyone? I follow some really influential photographers online and at the camera club I belong to. I have a mentor big shout-out to Janet Miles, she has the patience of a saint and some! So photography for me is a journey. I hope you follow my progress. Please feel free to contact me with comments or advice!
