The start of the year has been non stop rain so when it is dry for 30 minutes and you have a very important product launch you make a run for it grab your kit and shoot!

We are lucky to be so close to the Somerset countryside so we headed for The reservoir at Chard and Cricket St Thomas. Let's let you in on the launch.

RED Winches in Chard is an internationally known winch manufacturer. Having worked with INEOS and JLR on many products they have now designed, engineered and manufactured a range of billet upgrades for vehicles. Starting here with the Defender 90 and 110.

The Story

Owners of the Land Rover Defender value both iconic style and charismatic design. While the classic Defender oozes traditional British charm, its high status and value unfortunately make it one of the most targeted vehicles for theft. SV-R has bridged this gap by designing billet products that provide robust security without compromising on aesthetics. Our goal for this shoot was to capture this quintessential British landmark in its natural element, showcasing how these modern upgrades integrate seamlessly with its rugged roots.

Project Technical Specifications

To capture the rugged elegance of the Land Rover Defender against the Somerset backdrop, we utilised a high-dynamic-range approach to ensure the billet silver details popped against the natural textures of the landscape.

  • Location: Private estate and woodland tracks, Somerset, UK.
  • Equipment: High-resolution full-frame cameras with fast prime lenses for that signature "bokeh" (blurred background) that makes the vehicle the star.

  • Aerials: 4K Drone cinematography to capture the scale of the Defender in its "natural habitat."

  • Post-Production: Custom color grading designed to enhance the moody, atmospheric tones of the British countryside while maintaining the true-to-life finish of the SV-R billet upgrades.

  • Focus: Commercial automotive lifestyle, heritage branding, and product integration.
