What’s In The Bag
I often read blogs by fellow photographers or watch Youtube videos and wonder what cameras they use or what gear they keep. I thought that I would share what is currently in my bag.
I might be just nosey but I like to know what everyone else is using in the world of photography. I am a Fuji gal! Since buying my first mirrorless anyway. I started with the Fuji X-T20 which served me for a few years and then last year I upgraded to the X-T4. It was a new to me camera because I didn’t want to go all out on the X-T5 and Fuji had stopped making the X-T4.
Why do I like the Fuji range?
The Fujifilm X-T4, released in 2020, remains a compelling choice for photographers and videographers seeking a versatile APS-C mirrorless camera. Below is an overview of its key specifications, followed by a review of its performance in both photography and videography.

Despite being a few years old, the Fujifilm X-T4 remains a fantastic hybrid camera that confidently caters to both photography and videography. Its combination of in-body stabilisation, high-quality imaging, and versatile video capabilities ensures it continues to be a relevant and reliable tool for photographers and content creators.
What others have to say about the Fuji X-T4
Photography Performance: – Dustin Abbott
The X-T4 delivers excellent image quality, characterized by sharp detail and vibrant color reproduction. The inclusion of IBIS enhances low-light shooting and allows for greater flexibility with slower shutter speeds. The camera’s mechanical shutter enables rapid continuous shooting at 15 fps, making it suitable for capturing fast-moving subjects. The autofocus system is responsive and accurate, with improved tracking capabilities that benefit both still photography and video recording.
Videography Performance: Photography Blog
For videographers, the X-T4 offers a robust set of features. It supports DCI 4K recording at up to 60 fps with 10-bit color depth, providing high-quality footage suitable for professional use. The availability of F-Log and the Eterna Bleach Bypass film simulation allows for greater creative flexibility in post-production. The fully articulating screen is advantageous for various shooting angles and vlogging applications. However, it’s worth noting that the camera lacks a dedicated headphone jack; monitoring audio requires the use of a USB-C adapter or the optional battery grip, which includes a headphone socket.
Lenses.
I don’t have a great range of lenses as I have two that I use constantly and everything else just gathers dust! The one that stays on my camera for the majority of my shoots is my trusty 16-55mm 2.8. It is a bit of a beast when it comes to size and weight compared to other lenses from Fuji but I just think it is superior in all focal lengths. Hence it stays on my camera for landscape and portraiture.
My next favourite has to be the 56mm 1.2 prime lens because the Fuji has a crop sensor it is the equivalent of 85mm which is perfect for Portraits. I want to take this out for more practice in 2025 so I will give a more in-depth review later.
I also have the 10-24mm but I am not that fond of this compared to the other two lenses – yet!

Other gear.
Tripod. Now this I heavily researched. Having had a few tripods that felt so unsteady or just massive to carry around I wanted to make the right choice. It was between the Peak Design and the Three-Legged Thing. With both being around the same price I felt the Peak Design looked more compact and sleeker (come on I am a designer, I like how things look!).
I have been well and truly satisfied that I bought the tripod for myself. With my local camera club on a windy evening, I took the above image of Burnham on Sea Lighthouse. Everyone was moaning about how windy it was and not being able to get ‘the’ shot! I didn’t moan once, well, apart from the amount of sand I ate!
This year I am looking to venture into videography and UGC more so it will be great to have a tripod that is versatile for everything, and small enough not to leave at home.
Lens Filters. So I went for Urth set on Amazon it has been great, sometimes a little fiddly to get on but the magnetic kit was not available when I purchased the kit. I have some more that I want to add to my collection so think I will add the magnetic ones to the bag. Do you have them? What are they like?
I have also swapped to Peak Designs for my camera strap and small camera sling bag, this is perfect to fit both my lenses my camera and my filters!
If I am going out for the day or want to take the Drone for a spin then I will use my LowPro compact rucksack. Perfect size and comfortable to wear on a days hike!
I hope you enjoyed reading my post and if you are a Fuji user I would love to say ‘Hi’ talk everything Fuji! Can’t wait until this dreary weather vacates so I can get back out again in the fresh air!
